Turn up your speakers, buckle your seatbelt, and keep both hands on the steering wheel. CitizenSanJose’s purpose is to be a PodCast that will provide citizens with the information necessary to participate in the politics, culture and entertainment offerings of the city of San Jose California.

In the coming weeks and months ahead, we will be exploring the good, the bad, and everything in between of our quiet-yet-feisty city. San Jose Background

San Jose became in 1850 the first incorporated city in the US State of California, and served as its first state capital. It is the most populous city in Northern California, the third in the state (after Los Angeles and San Diego), and has just moved up to the 10th largest in the US. The city of San Jose stretches up to Mount Hamilton (4,372 feet), and so comprises a number of natural parks that contrast with its urban and suburban areas. It is an important business center as the self-proclaimed “Capital of the Silicon Valley”, with homes to many corporations such as eBay, Apple, Cisco, Intel, and many others.
